The centers that offer spa services to relax and enhance our natural beauty are in fashion. However, its high price makes it difficult for us to access them regularly. In this article, we share the secrets to create your own relaxation and beauty spa at home, economically, simply and naturally.
What do we need in our spa?
To prepare our home spa we must have a bathroom with a bathtub.
We will need the following ingredients for our relaxation and beauty routine:
- Towels of nice texture
- Essential oils
- Foaming liquid soap
- Food colorings
- Magnesium sulphate
- Sea salt
- Coconut oil
- Relaxing music
Below we detail how to prepare our spa session with these natural ingredients.
- Preparation of the bathroom:
The bathroom should no longer seem like the usual room to become an intimate, pleasant and relaxing stay.
For this we will follow the following tips:
We will turn off the light and use candles or small lamps, such as salt from the Himalayas, which have a warm and cozy orange light.
We will play relaxing music at a low volume.
If it is cold we will put a stove. It is essential that the temperature is pleasant.
It is imperative that the time we spend in our spa we can disconnect from any issue that concerns us and that we have no interruptions.
- Relaxing bathtub:
Once the stay is ready it will be time to prepare our bathtub:
We will fill the bathtub with water at a temperature similar to that of our body. If it is cold we will not be comfortable, while if it is too hot we can lower the tension and cause some dizziness.
While it is full we will add a little sparkling soap and a few drops of essential oils.
We can also add if we wish, some food coloring to give the water the color that we like the most. These dyes do not have any risk to health.
Finally, we will add our key ingredient: half a cup of magnesium sulfate (100 g).
This magnesium bath will help us relax and, at the same time, get vitality. If we do not have magnesium sulfate, we can use sea salt.
- Essential oils:
It is important to know a little about the properties of essential oils to choose the ones that are most suitable for us.
Relaxants: Lavender, basil, chamomile.
Stimulants and aphrodisiacs: Cinnamon, ylang-ylang, bergamot.
Antidepressants: Lemon, orange, bergamot, tangerine, grapefruit.
Rejuvenating: Lavender, geranium, pink.
Sensual: Rosa, jasmine, ylang-ylang.
They must be pure and certified essential oils since nowadays chemical essences without therapeutic properties are also commercialized.
- Natural scrub:
While we are in the bathtub, the hot water will open the pores of our skin and allow us to clean it and provide nutrients more easily. Therefore, it is the ideal time to exfoliate and hydrate it.
We can achieve these two objectives at the same time with a natural exfoliant based on sea salt and coconut oil.
For the body, we will use coarse sea salt, while for the face we will choose the fine one.
We will massage well with this mixture and we will clarify. When finished, we will have smooth and much-hydrated skin.
- Cold shower:
To finish this home spa more beneficially, we recommend making a small effort and showering with cold water for about 30 seconds just before drying.
With this simple step we will achieve the following results:
- Avoid voltage drops
- Improve circulation
- Give firmness to the skin and prevent sagging.
- Improve body temperature
- Get vitality
The cold shower should always start with the feet and end in the neck. We should not wash our heads with cold water.
- Final relaxes:
After doing this spa session, which can last between 30 and 45 minutes, we recommend avoiding any stressful situation.
One of the best times to do it is before going to bed, to extend the feeling of pleasure and well-being throughout the night. In fact, it is highly recommended to prevent insomnia.
If we do it in the morning, we will dry and warm well after the session and we will rest for a while, reading or listening to music, whenever possible.
A weekly home spa session will help us reduce stress and anxiety levels, combat burnout and increase energy, as well as improve the appearance and health of our skin.
